Reykjavík New Year's Eve Celebration at Sea

Celebrate New Year's Eve in true Icelandic style with a magical cruise on Faxaflói Bay, where Reykjavík’s skyline comes alive with one of the most spectacular unofficial fireworks displays in the world. Departing at 22:30 from the Old Harbour, this 2-hour celebration at sea offers stunning views of the city’s fiery festivities, with over 200,000 people setting off nearly 500 tonnes of fireworks. Onboard, you’ll be greeted with a welcome drink and can enjoy the show from the open deck in warm overalls or from the comfort of a heated indoor saloon. With music, party hats, snacks, and festive cheer, the countdown to midnight becomes an unforgettable moment, and if you're lucky, the Northern Lights might make a surprise appearance too.

As midnight strikes, raise your glass in a shared toast to the New Year and take in the full panorama of lights before cruising gently back to port. The rest of the night is yours to enjoy downtown Reykjavík. This special event, available only on December 31st, is subject to sea and weather conditions. Please note the minimum drinking age is 20, and underage guests must be accompanied by an adult.
