I strongly disagree with the last review. I was luckily enough to experience this elephant project recently and had an amazing experience. Bodo and his team are totally committed to the welfare of his animals many of which he owns personally rather than being leased out or rented like most of the other so called ethical elephant parks. He is a world class elephant trainer and helps rehabilitates elephants that have been mistreated. Hence why he is endorsed by the king of Thailand and the Chiang Mai university who both recognise his efforts to help promote elephant welfare. Sometimes it helps to ask questions first instead of being ignorant and posting facts which are blatantly untrue

Just horrible ! This sanctuary is not ethical at all. Animals are being bitten and threathened all day with the bullhook. They are chained and stay in small shelter when they are not Touring with tourists. Elephants are very sensitive animals and can be gentle when treated with respect, love, and kindness. A relationship can be built with them, without using bull-hooks, chains and violence. Please do not support this business based on animal abuse :( there are many other ethical sanctuaries in the area. Elephant Nature Park would be the best example.

We were soooooo glad we learned about this special project and got to experience the love for these magnificent creatures. We loved the 3 day tour - getting to bond with our own elephant and seeing the difference in personalities. We learned about the elephant matriarchy and saw first hand the love and concern the females have for all the young ones and how they are so protective. We loved the care Bodo and his staff and volunteers provided for these elephants- giving them time to just graze and be elephants for a large part of the day. This was the highlight of our time in Thailand and would definitely recommend!! The only wish I have is that we could continue to be updated on their status - the new births and the wellbeing of our new friends!
