Northern Lights & Basecamp

Join us for a magical Northern Lights experience starting at nine PM from Perlan with convenient pickups at bus stops around Reykjavik. The tour takes you to the Aurora Basecamp located in the rugged lava fields of Reykjanes Geopark far from light pollution. At the basecamp you can enjoy a cozy observatory featuring six glowing glass tubes simulating the colors and movements of the Northern Lights. Explore the Dark Park to learn about the science and myths of the auroras how to find and photograph them and prepare your eyes to spot their subtle details. Step outside to enjoy the vast lava fields stay warm by the fire or relax with a hot drink in the Aurora Lounge.

If weather conditions are not ideal for natural aurora viewing from the basecamp we will travel to the best available location to maximize your chances of seeing the Northern Lights. This experience allows you to witness one of the most magical natural phenomena in comfort and style while enjoying Icelandic landscapes and learning about aurora science and local folklore. The tour is designed for all ages and provides guidance to make your aurora experience memorable and safe.
