The tour continues to Franschhoek, known as the “French Corner,” where a rich heritage dating back to the 1600s awaits. The valley was settled by French Huguenots in 1687, led by Simon van der Stel, who established it as a key point along the maritime trade route. Franschhoek is now celebrated for its exquisite wines, gourmet restaurants, and boutique wineries set against a backdrop of dramatic mountain views. From there, you’ll explore Paarl, one of South Africa’s oldest European settlements, founded in 1690 by Huguenots who brought winemaking traditions that shaped the region. I had a perfect day of wine tasting, with an excellent driver and guide, Will. He was knowledgeable and fun. The other guest on the tour made the day complete. Highly recommended if you get the chance.

I really enjoyed my wine tasting tour with Wine Tours Cape Town. It was quite easy to book and the run of day was seamless. There was only 3 other people on the tour which was a nice size group and I enjoyed chatting with our driver who gave us a great overview of the area. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a day tour of wine country.
