The journey begins with a friendly guide welcoming guests at Kakslauttanen and escorting them to a peaceful reindeer farm surrounded by Arctic wilderness. At the farm guests receive warm thermal outfits designed to keep them comfortable in the crisp northern air. Before the adventure begins there is time to meet the gentle reindeer and capture memorable photographs in the snowy landscape. Soon after guests settle into a traditional wooden sledge covered with soft blankets while the reindeer slowly guide the ride through silent forests and open white fields. The calm pace allows everyone to relax breathe the pure Arctic air and listen to the quiet rhythm of nature that makes this region so magical.
As the ride ends guests are welcomed into a warm and cozy traditional herders shelter known as a kota. Inside the wooden shelter a gentle fire creates a comforting atmosphere where visitors can warm up and enjoy a cup of hot juice along with a delicious Finnish treat. During this relaxing moment the guide shares stories about the fascinating culture of reindeer herding and the unique nature of the Arctic environment. Guests gain insight into local traditions daily life in the north and the deep connection between people animals and nature that has shaped the region for generations.
