Zagora 2 Day Desert Tour with a stop in Aït Ben Haddou was a lot of fun. I had many insights into the culture and enjoyed a good time. The Aït Ben Haddou Stop itself was in my opinion to commercial driven and very crowdy and stressful because the tour guide made us to hurry up. The guide during the Bus drives was absoluty friendly and made us having a good time. His name is Ayoub A. Thank you so much!!
great experience overall the tents were comfortable and everyone was so nice along the way. the drive is windy so be prepared for that but great alternative if you don’t have time to reach the sahara desert. i wish we had more options for food though everyone had to eat at the same places but that’s usually how yours go. ayoub was our guide and he was amazing and so so nice.
We did a 3-day tour with Red City Tours, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. We stopped in several stunning places along the way like Aït Ben Haddou that was incredibly fascinating, but honestly every landscape we passed through was breathtaking. In Aït Ben Haddou we had a local guide, Chafir, who was super friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. He explained the history of the site in a very engaging way, making the visit even more interesting. The night in the Sahara Desert was unforgettable: we slept in comfortable and well-equipped tents that had everything we needed. The scenery was spectacular, especially at sunset and sunrise, and we also enjoyed delicious local food prepared on the spot. A special thanks goes to our main guide, Aymane, who was extremely helpful, attentive, and caring throughout the entire trip. He explained so much about Moroccan culture, made us feel safe and welcomed at all times, and truly made the experience even more enjoyable. Absolutely worth it!
This 3-day tour became one of the best memories of my trip! Our tour guide, Lahcen, sent the daily schedule to everyone via WhatsApp each morning, and he always informed us clearly like, “We’ll take a 15-minute break now!” It was very easy to follow. The long van rides were a bit tiring for the body, but he took us to many great spots and explained everything along the way. It was also an amazing experience to become friends with people from all over the world through this trip. A neck pillow definitely helps for the long drives! We arrived in the desert on the evening of the second day. The contrast between the red sand dunes and the silhouettes under the sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The camel ride lasts about one hour — which I found perfect! I had read other reviews saying some tours were too short (only 15 minutes) or too long (2 hours and painful), so this one was just right. After the ride, the friendly “Arabian” who took so many photos for us suddenly opened his backpack full of souvenirs (haha). Breakfast was simple bread, but dinner was delicious with big tajines and buffets. Especially the campfire on the second night in the desert camp was so much fun with everyone together! There were some mosquitoes inside the tents, so I recommend bringing bug spray or a small mosquito net. Lunch was not included, and it usually cost around 120 DH per meal. It’s good to have enough cash for three days and a tip for the guide (around €3.5). Also, a scarf, sunglasses, and sunscreen are a must — they take you to a scarf shop before entering the desert! The scarves were high-quality but more expensive than in Marrakech, so if you plan to buy one, it’s better to get it beforehand. When I went, there was no wind, and the view was so stunning that I took off even my sunglasses — I didn’t want to miss a single detail! But I heard that on windy days, the sand can hurt your face. One thing to note — I accidentally left my sub-bag on the van before heading to the desert camp. It had my clothes and valuables, and I thought I might never see it again. But Lahcen kindly sent me a photo of my bag via message to let me know it was safe. If it were another country or person, it might have been lost — I really appreciated his honesty and kindness. On the way back, I asked if I could be dropped off near the airport, and he kindly took me there too. He was truly an amazing driver and guide. Thank you so much, Lahcen! 🙏🌵
Absolutely amazing experience! I can’t wait to come back and book another unforgettable trip like this. The drivers were outstanding, super professional, incredibly friendly, and always available for support.
