We had to circle twice to figure out where this place was, but if you go inside the mall and head to the stairs to the right of the supermercado, then up the next flight to the right again, you'll end up on the terrace. Veer right and you'll find a fabulous setting for drinks or a light dinner with a fabulous view. The inside is cute with a modern cozy vice, but the outside is even better with tables along the wall with flowers and black umbrellas. No matter where you sit, you'll have an ocean view, and if you time it correctly, you'll enjoy a sunset view. I enjoyed a fabulous mojito, chosen based on our waitress' recommendation. My husband had a local beer. We were ready to order two paninis, but luckily, she told us they were huge, which we should've figured out based on the price. We also shared the $3 side salad, which was large and full of variety. Both the Classico Toasted Sandwich and the salad were fresh and tasty and delivered quite quickly. Our waitress was funny, professional, and full of great suggestions. I'd go back just for the service! But luckily, everything, including the view, was quite good. Lots of people were just enjoying drinks and the view. Restroom is two flights down the stairs. Highly recommend for a casual bite to eat or drinks with an ocean/sunset view. ⭐⭐⭐⭐+ 4.8 stars
Lovely rooftop terrace with amazing views over the sea/cliffs. Kinda hard to find above the Centro Mar shopping centre but is worth the visit. Staff were great and prices for cocktails were reasonable. Think they do happy hour at some point too. You can walk back to the Lido area along the seafront promenade which is a really lovely pathway.
In fact, I was in this place, but I did not use the restaurant which was located about 50 meters from the observation deck from which I took photos. I have seen their extensive menu and fairly high prices. I am writing this because google still reminds me of it - despite the location being rejected.
Drinks were good. Food was partly overdone, with some items hot and others cold. Fish may come as fish balls although not indicated as such on the menu.
Sunset, tapas, beer, spectacular views of the mountain... Can't ask for more really. The perfect terrasse for a Funchal sunset. I took the big plate of tapas and I was a very happy camper. I will be back tommorow!! A++
