The Hill of Tara is a significant archaeological site with a very calm atmosphere. The walk across the hills is easy and provides beautiful panoramic views of the Meath countryside. Seeing the ancient monuments like the Lia Fáil (Stone of Destiny) and the Mound of the Hostages in person is a great experience. It is a well-maintained location that feels very open and natural. There is a small coffee shop and a bookshop near the entrance. This is a perfect spot for anyone who enjoys history and a quiet walk outdoors.

As a local tour guide in the Boyne valley region The Hill of Tara is one of my favourite stops. Apart from the amazing History and Mythology connected to Tara, On a clear day the views are spectacular. I would also highly recommend a visit to Maguires of Tara for lunch. The best of local ingredients.
Jacob

A magical place, rich with history. Find the the location where over 100 kings were sworn in and where Christianity began its spread in Ireland. I recommend the cafe for great pastries.
Rhona

We had a guided tour which I would recommend. Tara is a significant historical site with many areas of interest like the Dining or Banqueting hall.... which come to life when explained. We were lucky enough to have Anthony Murphy author of Mythical Ireland share his vast knowledge with us. Truly amazing.

Nice stop, great history. A religious group was doing a service and the coronation stone was barricade non accessible to observe.. i recommend checking for events before going if that important to you.
