what an amazing tour!! valdemar is an amazing person who showed us the most beautiful places, we didn’t see any other tourists on the entire trip! He definitely knows the best spots and gave tipps and recommendations that we kept on using for the rest of our stay. We could’ve kept on driving around with him for a few more days, he was a pleasure to be around. So so nice, his english ist great and he always made sure that everyone was doing okay. Would 1000% recommend
I very highly recommend Val and Go Local Madeira Tours! Val included all the island sites we wished and added locales only a 4 wheel drive vehicle could go, a newly opened cliff walk, experiences of local food/beverage and culture, natural sites and so many other highlights! Val takes excellent group photos (using your device) for extra keepsakes of your Madeira experiences. My favorite exciting and heart pounding highligh was Val driving the old roads ... vroom-vroom ... wheeeeeeee! It's definitely a must do with Val! 😁
Highly highly highly recommended!! Val took all the ideas of what we wanted to see and made it happen, but his "surprises" and local additions were what made the trip amazing, and outshown the touristy sites we'd requested by far! If you tell him what kind of trip you're looking for he will not disappoint! He was magic with his timing and planning, we never waited in a single line even at the touristy stops, and he will adapt the day based on weather and conditions as well, with access to info on conditions minute by minute, so you always get the best views and experience! He is incredibly knowledgeable on the history and culture of the island, sharing his knowledge while directing us to local markets, shops, vineyards and distilleries, that embody the traditions. Truly allowing you to experience the island's incredible beauty, including things like swimming in volcanic lagoons. We did a 3 day tour to try to roam the entire island, but it still was no where near enough time! Incredibly well planned by Val in every aspect, never more than about 30-40 minutes driving without an amazing look out site or local experience, and a true gentleman very cognizant of bathroom break needs, frequent breaks and always directing us to the cleanest local spot even in the remote areas. He adds some heart racing thrills, off roading on goat paths and trying to convince you the cobblestone path he's racing down is a two lane road as he passes parked cars with mm on either side (he his an absolutely incredible driver, very safe, knows his vehicle and its size very well!) - 4 wheel drive is the only way to experience the island. He also directed us on the touristy things we could do on our own time (like the cable cars), so as to optimize our time with him as much as possible. All I can say is the only way to truly experience Madeira is with Val as your guide! I can not wait to go back
What should i say, when you dont do a tour with Val you miss the best experience on Madeira. He is a very kind dude with a lot of experience and knowledge about Madeira. And every Tour will be different based on your interests. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Go Local Madeira. Thank you 🙌
