Kayak and Brunch Event Celebrates Lowcountry Flavor and Ecology in Skull Creek

A unique kayak and brunch experience on Hilton Head Island is bringing together outdoor adventure and local cuisine through a partnership between Island Rec Center and the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival. The event invites participants to explore the scenic waters of Skull Creek before enjoying a traditional Lowcountry dining experience.

The journey begins with a guided paddle led by expert Master Naturalists, who provide insight into the region’s delicate coastal ecosystem. Before launching, guests receive brief paddle instruction and observe shoreline features, learning about tidal movements and native wildlife that define the Lowcountry environment.

As participants glide through calm waters, the tour highlights the natural beauty and ecological balance of Skull Creek. The experience offers an educational yet relaxing introduction to the area’s marshlands, with opportunities to better understand the relationship between land, water, and wildlife.

Following the paddle, guests gather at the Rowing & Sailing Center for a Lowcountry Boil prepared by Hudsons. Set beside a cozy fire with refreshing beverages, the brunch creates a warm and social atmosphere, blending outdoor recreation with regional flavors for a memorable community event.
