Sunset Fishing Experience at Rowing & Sailing Center Blends Learning and Family Fun

An evening fishing program at the Rowing & Sailing Center is offering families a hands-on introduction to the Lowcountry’s coastal angling traditions. Designed as both an educational and recreational experience, the event combines expert instruction with relaxed waterfront activity, set against the backdrop of a sunset over the marshes and harbor.

The session begins with guidance from an experienced Lowcountry fishing captain who walks participants through essential techniques and foundational skills. Topics include knot tying, casting accuracy, bait selection, and strategies for both inshore and offshore fishing. Guests are also introduced to cast net throwing and effective dock fishing methods, providing a well-rounded overview of local fishing practices.

Following the instructional portion, families move to the dock to apply their new skills in a real-world setting. Fishing together at sunset, participants engage in a calm and scenic environment that encourages learning through practice, conversation, and shared experience.
