Sunset Kayak Paddle Showcases Wildlife and Coastal Beauty Along Caloosahatchee River

A guided evening kayaking experience along the Caloosahatchee River is offering visitors a peaceful way to explore Southwest Florida’s mangrove-lined waterways as the sun sets. The tour highlights the region’s natural beauty, with calm waters reflecting shifting evening colors.

Paddlers move through mangrove islands where wildlife activity remains strong into the evening hours. Dolphins, manatees, skates, rays, and jumping fish are commonly observed, alongside roosting birds settling into the shoreline vegetation.

The excursion is led by ACA Certified Kayak and SUP Instructors and Florida Master Naturalists, who provide both safety guidance and ecological interpretation. Guests receive insights into the area’s natural history, marine ecosystems, and the diverse species that inhabit the river system.

The approximately two-hour experience is conducted in tandem kayaks, with single kayaks available depending on availability. Safety protocols include weight restrictions and weather-based rescheduling, ensuring a comfortable and secure outing while participants enjoy the sunset and learn about the region’s biodiversity.
