Outing - Sunrise Paddle - North Park

Start your day in a truly memorable way with the Sunrise Paddle at North Park. This relaxed two hour kayaking experience allows participants to watch the sun rise over North Park Lake, creating a peaceful and scenic start to the morning. Trained Kayak Pittsburgh Excursionists guide the session, providing instruction on land for basic kayaking skills before leading the group on the water. North Park Lake is a flatwater environment with no current and no motorized boats, making it ideal for beginners or those with little to no kayaking experience. Participants can expect to cover roughly one to one and a half miles during the paddle.

All paddlers must be at least three years old and weigh a minimum of thirty five pounds. Anyone under thirteen must paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult, although each person still requires a ticket. The experience includes all rental equipment if needed, and guides provide professional instruction throughout. Reservations close twenty four hours before the start of the event, and participants should arrive fifteen minutes early to ensure a smooth start. Weather is no barrier for this adventure, so dress appropriately, bring water, and wear comfortable closed toe shoes. Those bringing their own non-motorized kayak must ensure it is seaworthy, as staff will inspect all boats before departure.
