Outing - Pride Paddle - Downtown

Celebrate queer joy on the water with our Pride Paddle in Downtown Pittsburgh. This two-hour outing welcomes participants ages three and up to join a fun, inclusive, and beginner-friendly kayaking experience. Meeting at our Downtown Community Hub, paddlers will be introduced to basic kayaking skills, safety procedures, and the proper use of gear. Once equipped with a kayak, paddle, and life jacket, the group will paddle along the Allegheny River at a relaxed pace, enjoying social connection, outdoor activity, and scenic river views.

Our trained Kayak Pittsburgh Excursionists lead the experience, providing guidance both on land and on the water. The paddle covers approximately one to one and a half miles, and beginners are encouraged to join, whether solo or in tandem kayaks for participants under thirteen years old. All paddlers must meet the minimum weight requirement of thirty-five pounds and have a valid ticket for participation. Rentals are available for kayaks, paddles, and PFDs, or participants may bring their own non-motorized, seaworthy kayaks for inspection. Reservations close twenty-four hours before the start of the event.
