Experience the city from a completely new perspective on our Downtown After Dark outing. This two hour adventure allows participants ages three and up to explore the waterways of Pittsburgh at night, guided by trained Excursionists. You will glide past illuminated cityscapes, learning interesting facts about the city, its history, and waterways while gaining tips for safe navigation in low light conditions. Both kayaks and stand up paddle boards are available for use, and boat lights are included for rented equipment.
The trip is designed for participants with some prior paddling experience. Guides will introduce the equipment, provide a safety briefing, and lead the group on the water at a comfortable pace. Expect to spend about one and a half hours paddling, with the experience adjusted to match the group’s speed. Tickets close twenty four hours before the trip. Participants should arrive fifteen minutes early for check in and dress for the weather. Be prepared for occasional splashes, and wear clothing that dries quickly along with closed toe shoes. If bringing your own boat, it must be in seaworthy condition and will be inspected by staff.
