Our guide was terrific both on the trek on day 1 and the main visit to Machu Picchu on day 2. Anyone booking should know the short Inca trek is quite challenging in parts and day 1 is not an easy stroll, other than that great value and very well organised.
Anastasia

Excellent. Perfect organization, perfect guides, best group of people. Tasty food. Good local restaurant. Everything was fantastic. Highly recommended

Visiting Macchi Picchu is such an extraordinary experience that may let you forget all the work necessary to organize a smooth trip. However, the passion of Gary and Evangelino, together with the spotless logistics and cuisine, were fundamental to make this experience unforgettable.
Jac

Our tour guides frank and Fernando were great guides and we had a wonderful trip hiking to Machu Picchu. The hike was beautiful and we had plenty of time to stop and take photos!

A wonderful alternative! For anyone who is unable or unwilling to hike the four-day Inca Trail, the Short Inca Trail is a good alternative. The journey starts at Ollantaytambo station, and after a train ride through the green valley of the Urubamba you will be dropped in the middle of the jungle. There is only a sign with an expectant message: Camino Sagrado - Chachabamba - KM 104 - Welcome to the Inka Trail. Let the adventurous hike begin! After the checkpoint and the ruins of Chachabamba, the steep climb to Winay Wayna and the Intipunktu begins. Your effort will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Urubamba valley, the overwhelmingly beautiful nature and finally your first view of Machu Picchu. A "goosebumps hike"!

It's a fairly tough 6-hour hike because there's a lot of climbing. The route is very beautiful, and there are several ruins to see along the way to Machu Picchu. An entrance fee and a guide are required, which must be hired through an agency.
