Amazing place, not crowded, please be aware it is 5'000M ASL ;)
3 hrs one way from Cusco. 1 hr reg road and 2 hrs off road. About a 179 km from Cusco. Hard to get to. Must hire tour guide. Reserve early. Only have to walk 45 mins up to see the best rainbow mountains. We walked all the way to the top about 14,700 ft elevation. We went end of Sept. very few tourists. It was truly beautiful!!! Must see!!!
A great alternative to the more touristic mountain of colors, with hardly any tourist if you come after 10am. Highly recommended. Entrance to the road is just north of combapata. If the road is closed for maintenance, aim for the yellow building across the river for an alternate route.
