Children's Tour

Visiting the United Nations Headquarters offers families a unique opportunity to introduce young minds to the work of a global organization. All visitors are required to present a valid, original government-issued photo identification to enter the headquarters. The identification must be in Latin or Roman characters, and accepted forms include passports, driver’s licenses, or national identity cards. Photocopies or digital images are not accepted. These security measures ensure a safe and organized experience for all visitors while allowing children and their families to explore the headquarters in a secure and engaging environment.

The Children’s Tour at the United Nations provides an interactive and educational experience designed specifically for young visitors. The tour focuses on the Kids Corridor, a child-friendly space where children can learn to become global citizens through engaging activities. The corridor features wall-sized world maps, mounted flags of the Security Council’s member states, and even a real refugee tent. Through games, quizzes, and role-playing exercises with the Tour Guides, children gain a hands-on understanding of the United Nations’ work and how it relates to their everyday lives. Participants also have the chance to visit the General Assembly Hall, depending on scheduled meetings, but the tour does not access the main Conference Building.
