The cooking class was a good experience with our family! First we got a little tour around Bo Kaap, very interesting to find out about the history. After that we made a nice curry, flatbread, mimosa and chilly bites. We will try it at home!! It was Lekker!!! Roland, Vere, Bent and Maria from the Netherlands

Amazing cooking class ! Warm people (thank you Hamidah and her family), delicious food, and a beautiful way to discover Cape Malay culture. It was our first time in South Africa and we loved learning the story behind the dishes. Highly recommend. Lots of love from Montréal 🫶

We did the cooking class and it was really good. We learned a lot about the cape malay kitchen, culture and history. The food was really great. If you are looking for a cooking class than I would definetly recommend Lekka Kombuis.

We joined Gamidah for a tour around the neighbourhood & a Cape Malay cooking workshop. A must do! Our whole family loved learning about the history of the area: the Dutch & English settlers, the ‘import’ of Malays and how this became the Cape Malay culture & food tradition. The spice shop was lovely to go through. The cooking workshop was super delicious, hands-on and loved learning the new dishes. Gamidah is super friendly, great energy and was a lovely experience to eat and cook in her home that she opens up to you. Go do it!
