I really enjoyed visiting this national park. It is very big so you need a tour, guide or suitable transport. Some of the route arr extremely steep for driving. The waterfalls are huge and so beautiful. You can also visit the pagodas and explore their lovely surrounding gardens. You can visit the highest point in Thailand, there is no viewpoint here but still cool to say you've been.

Doi Inthanon National Park is a must-visit destination in Chiang Mai and one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand. Home to Thailand’s highest peak, the park offers cool weather, lush forests, waterfalls, and stunning mountain views. Highlights include the King and Queen Pagodas, Wachirathan and Mae Klang waterfalls, and scenic nature trails like Kew Mae Pan and Ang Ka. Roads are well maintained and accessible by regular cars. Facilities such as restrooms, parking, and food stalls are available at major spots. Best visited early morning during the dry season (Nov–Feb) for clear views and cooler temperatures. Can be crowded during peak season, but the scenery is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, and first-time visitors to Chiang Mai.

Doi Inthanon National Park is a vast and beautiful place, best explored with an early start and proper planning. The entrance fee is 300 THB per person, with an additional 20 THB for bikes. The park's highlight is the summit of Doi Inthanon, the highest point in Thailand, which has a short, easy trail that does not require a guide. There are two guided nature trails: Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail (near the summit) and Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail (near the entrance). A guide is mandatory, costing 220 THB per group (up to 10 people), and each trek takes about 1-2 hours. Most other attractions are free to visit. Phra Mahathat Chedi Inthanon is another key stop, with a 50 THB fee that includes a round-trip jeep transfer. With many viewpoints and waterfalls along the route, planning ahead helps save time. Dress warmly, especially in December, as temperatures can drop to 6°C. Overall, it's a stunning one-day trip with costs around 500 THB per person.

This is one of those places you just have to visit when in Thailand, or at least when in Chiang Mai. The roof of Thailand at 2500+ meter. Fantastic hikes, camping is possible, the cloud forest and the swamp forest nearly at the top are very interesting biotopes (and out of a fairytale). And there are some very impressive waterfalls to top it of.

We visited Doi Inthanon National Park today, and despite the long journey from Chiang Mai, it was absolutely worth it. We traveled by scooter, which took a little over two hours to reach the summit. Upon entering the park, there is an entrance fee of 300 THB per person plus 20 THB for the scooter. Our first stop was at the waterfalls, which were beautiful and free to visit. From there, we continued up the mountain to do the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail — a 3 km scenic loop. This hike costs 200 THB per group and includes a guide, which is mandatory (you cannot do this trail without one). A group can include several people, but in our case, we were just two. After the hike, we headed all the way up to the summit, where no additional fees were required. There are a few smaller trails at the top as well, and they are also free to explore. The park itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and refreshing mountain air. It was around 17°C when we arrived, but it can be much colder in the morning, so make sure to dress warmly. Although it’s quite expensive, especially with the dual pricing for tourists (which is very frustrating in Thailand), the experience is still definitely worth it. Doi Inthanon is a must-visit for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone looking to escape the heat and enjoy some truly unique scenery.
