This three day sea kayak camping adventure begins near Valdez and explores the scenic coastline of Prince William Sound. After a safety briefing and introductory kayaking lesson the journey starts with a motor boat transfer to Sawmill Bay State Park. From there paddlers follow a dramatic shoreline framed by towering mountains waterfalls and lush forest. The route continues toward Shoup Bay Marine State Park where peaceful campsites offer unforgettable views and a true wilderness atmosphere surrounded by ocean sounds and natural beauty.
The second day focuses on exploring the upper reaches of Shoup Glacier where paddlers move through calm fjord waters while watching sea otters seals eagles and seabirds. Optional hikes offer elevated glacier viewpoints while evenings are spent camping beside cascading waterfalls. On the final day the group paddles back toward Valdez enjoying new coastal perspectives and wildlife sightings along the way with a relaxing stop at Gold Creek State Park before returning to town completing a rewarding and scenic coastal expedition.
