3-Tages-Kanutour: Oberbiel bis Limburg

The three day canoe trip from Oberbiel to Limburg offers a scenic journey through the Lahn Valley with calm waters, gentle riverbanks, and historic landmarks. The tour begins at the Oberbiel lock at eleven am with a short briefing on paddling and lock operation. On the first day, participants paddle past the Löhnberg lock and reach the Weilburg shipping tunnel, a unique double lock that is a highlight for all canoeists. The day ends at Odersbach, where overnight stays are available at a four star campsite with a pizzeria and swimming pool or at a cozy family run pension nearby. The second day continues past Gräveneck, Aumenau, and Villmar, home to the famous Marble Bridge and King Konrad Rock, with the night spent at Runkel campsite below Runkel Castle. On the final day, paddlers enjoy views of Dehrn Castle before arriving at Limburg with its historic cathedral and old town. Optional extension to Diez is possible for those wishing to paddle further.

Over three days, participants experience approximately fifty three kilometers of calm river and forest scenery, with opportunities to stop at beer gardens, campsites, and picnic spots along the way. The tour is self guided, allowing travelers to start flexibly at their own pace. Canoes, paddles, life jackets for children and non swimmers, and waterproof barrels are supplied. The return journey is easy using the Lahntalbahn railway from Limburg or nearby stations. Safety is emphasized with mandatory life jackets for young children and non swimmers.
