I've recently returned from my first trip away with Women & Waves this October. This was my first week long surf trip and my first time using Women & Waves. I travelled alone and met the other women booked on the trip on my arrival at Faro airport. I had a fantastic time in the gorgeous old town of Lagos situated on a beautiful coast line in the Algarve. Not only did we have fabulous blue sky and sunshine kind of weather averaging 25 degrese most days, the whole trip was so well taken care of right from booking the trip and all the info provided to being on the trip itself. We had Elana as our host and she did such a good job from booking tables for dinner each night to teaching us in various workshops which included surf theory, surf skate and yoga. She also filmed and took photos of us every surf session which we talked through in our video analysis sessions. Our daily surf lessons were all pre booked by W&W using a well established local and reputable partner surf school that were excellent in their approach to see us progress at each individuals pace. They drove us to locations appropriate for our ability and provided delicious snacks and packed lunches. Katha, Alice & Bella were absolutely awesome coaches, surf board loaders and excellent van drivers! We were also invited for an evening dinner with the school midweek which was a lovely welcoming touch. Thank you very much W&W for providing a safe and fun place for women to learn to surf together. I would definitely recommend.
Alana was Amazing!!!! I truly had a perfect experience in Lagos! As a novice surfer, I was nervous to surf abroad but Alana and the local Surf Experience team really helped my confidence. We skated, did yoga on the roof, and ate the BEST FOOD IMAGINABLE. We reviewed Alana's footage daily for tips on improving our surf 🏄♀️ style. I would definitely recommend booking a trip with Women + Waves!!!! Stoked!!!!
This was my first international trip with W+W and it was absolutely amazing. Having everything organised for you from transfer, surf lessons and dinner reservations was a dream. Great surf school and instructors, with great surf beaches and conditions that matched our skills. Perfect programme including the surf skate and yoga sessions and practice in the pool. As always everyone on it was delightfull and fun and the accommodation in the old town was so convenient. Special shout out to our host Elana who took amazing care of us from start to finish!! Knew all the best foodie places and made our week unforgettable! 💙 🏄♀️ Definitely improved my surf skills and confidence and made some great friends. Taking home a stack of surf videos and amazing memories. I'll be back!
