Awesome ceilings and a view of the wealth the church has! Glad I did the tour. Its awesome. Avoid the shops as the same items are mostly available in the stalls around Rome for a fraction of the price. They have prosecco in the little cafe though for 5€. 😀

The Vatican Museums are an overwhelming and spectacular experience that is well worth the visit, but preparation is key. We had a pre-booked 9 AM slot and found they are strict with timing—unlike some other sites, they won't let you in early. Expect security and ticket checks (though no passport check was needed). The museum is massive and can be exhausting, so I highly recommend skipping the temporary exhibitions and focusing on the main one-way route to see the highlights: the Gallery of Maps, the Raphael Rooms, the Laocoön group, and the Apollo Belvedere. The absolute pinnacle is, of course, the Sistine Chapel, but the entire collection is packed with masterpieces by famous artists from Italy and beyond.

The Vatican Museums are an absolute must-visit when in Rome and truly one of a kind. From the moment you step inside, it is impossible not to be awed by the sheer beauty and scale of what surrounds you. Every corridor, gallery, and room feels like a masterpiece in its own right, making the experience unforgettable from start to finish. The museums are extremely well organized, especially considering their size and the volume of visitors they receive each day. That said, the crowds can be overwhelming and at times unimaginable, which makes planning ahead essential. If you intend to visit, buying tickets in advance is a must, and opting for a skip-the-line ticket is highly recommended. With pre-booked skip-the-line tickets, entry can take just a few minutes and saves a significant amount of time and frustration. The true reason this place is worth visiting is the extraordinary collection it houses. The Vatican Museums are home to some of the most incredible paintings and sculptures in the world, representing centuries of artistic brilliance and historical significance. Walking through the galleries feels like a journey through the peak of human creativity, culminating in some of the most iconic works ever created. Despite the crowds, the Vatican Museums remain a breathtaking and essential experience in Rome, offering an unparalleled opportunity to witness art, history, and culture at the highest level.

A highlight to our visit to Rome. Not to be missed visiting the Vatican Museum is taking a walk through the history of the world in 4 hours. We used the audio guide and were able to spend as much time as we liked with objects of interest. Wear comfortable shoes and wear layers if your like us and visiting in January. I can't image how crowded it must be in high season.

This place is a must in Rome. One and only. Amazingly beautiful inside. Very well organised, although the crowds are unimaginable. If you wish to go - 100% buy tickets in advance and search for skip-the-line ticket. We had such tickets and entered in just a few minutes. The place is worth to visit because it’s a home to amazing paintings and sculptures. There is also a place to eat inside, the food was delicious as well. WC on place too.
