K-2 Exploration

This immersive field trip offers early learners an exciting introduction to veterinary science and marine conservation. Students will explore the fascinating world of sea turtles alongside our friendly educator, Dr. Logger, through hands-on activities that simulate real-life rescue and treatment techniques. Participants will engage in a “rescue to release” simulation using model sea turtles, learning about animal care, record keeping, and the vital role these creatures play in maintaining healthy ocean ecosystems. The program encourages curiosity, environmental stewardship, and an understanding of careers in marine science, all while providing a fun, interactive experience tailored to young learners.

In addition to hands-on labs, students will enjoy a guided tour of the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, observing current patients and learning the stories behind their rescue and rehabilitation. This field trip aligns with state academic science standards and is designed to nurture awareness, responsibility, and care for marine wildlife.
