Lake Moomaw Camping

Lake Moomaw offers a pristine and peaceful setting for water adventures with over forty miles of undeveloped shoreline and more than two thousand five hundred acres of some of the clearest lake water in Virginia. Visitors can explore the lake on kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards while enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding forests and mountains. The lake is ideal for both leisurely paddling and more active excursions, making it a perfect destination for families, friends, or solo adventurers seeking a calm and scenic experience on the water. There are two options for accessing the water. Guests may have their boats shuttled to Coles Point, where they can begin their adventure and be picked up by the end of the day. Alternatively, visitors may transport boats themselves, picking them up and returning them to the rental location. Inflatable paddleboards are available along with a twelve volt pump to ensure easy setup on site. Safety is a priority, so life jackets are issued with each boat, and staff are available to answer questions about proper use and techniques for a safe and enjoyable experience.
