E-MTB Heritage Tour Uncovers Genoa’s Fortified Hills and Panoramic History

A guided e-mountain bike experience through Genoa is offering visitors a dynamic way to explore the city’s historic defensive network, where centuries of military architecture meet rugged natural landscapes. The tour follows sections of the ancient fort system built to protect the Republic of Genoa, often referred to as “La Superba,” during a period of political expansion and cultural growth across Europe.

Riders traverse forested trails and ridgelines that connect key defensive structures such as Forte Sperone and Forte Begato. These landmarks form part of one of the longest urban fortification systems in Europe, offering a striking blend of historical architecture and natural surroundings high above the city.

Covering approximately twelve kilometers of mixed terrain, the route provides continuous panoramic views of Genoa’s urban expanse and its coastal shoreline. Participants ride full-suspension e-mountain bikes designed for comfort and stability, allowing them to navigate forest paths, climbs, and ridgelines while absorbing the surrounding scenery.
