Steam Driver Experience

Step back in time and experience the thrill of driving a steam train on a full heritage railway line. This unique experience allows participants to take control of a service train under the guidance of an experienced team. The day begins at 1030 am with a full safety briefing, ensuring everyone is confident and ready to operate the train. Guests will take turns in roles such as driver, fireman, and guard, giving a hands-on understanding of life on a steam locomotive. In addition to operating the train, participants will also spend time in the signal box learning how rail traffic is safely managed.

The experience also offers a guided tour of the train and carriage sheds, where you can discover how these historic vehicles are maintained and restored. The event runs until approximately 330 pm, giving enough time to fully immerse in the world of steam railways. This adventure is ideal for railway enthusiasts, families with older children, and anyone curious about the mechanics and history of steam travel. Guests will leave with a memorable and educational experience that brings the golden age of railways to life in a practical and exciting way.
