Return Train Tickets

Step aboard the heritage carriages of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway for a relaxing return journey through the scenic edges of the Yorkshire Dales. This charming trip lasts around one hour, with about twenty minutes travel each way and a short stop at the midway station while the locomotive turns around. During this break you can step onto the platform, explore the historic station, and enjoy the cafe and gift shop. The peaceful countryside views and gentle rhythm of the train create a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.

Different historic trains operate throughout the season, offering a unique glimpse into railway history. You may travel on a beautifully restored 1950s Mark One steam train with picture windows and comfortable bays of seats, or step further back in time aboard the vintage 1890s to 1920s carriages once used by railway directors and even royalty. On selected days the remarkable 1903 NER Autocar runs, a self propelled carriage restored to its former glory and admired for its elegant interior. Train types may change due to operational needs.
