A quiet and remote place, half an hour's walk from the Bailey Lighthouse and about 10 minutes from the nearest bus stop. However, the path to the beach itself is a bit harsh, as the slope of the improvised stairs to it is quite steep, making the beach nearly inaccessible for children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Despite this, Doldrum Beach left incredible memories for me and my friends.
Lovely and easy hike and nice beach for picnic
Beautiful beach (and looped trail along the Howth Cliff Walk) - but don't swim here because there is no proper sanitation in this area and untreated waste currently flows into the sea at Doldrum Bay. Uisce Éireann and the EPA are working to improve this.
