Paradise on earth! Initially planing to spend two days in the hostel, I ended up spending five and I wish I could stay longer. Perfect location (directly on the lake), the dorms were clean and comfortable, and most rooms have a direct view on the lake. What made my stay so special is the staff. Everybody was friendly, professional, and well trained, from the restaurant to the reception and to volunteers. Big shootout to Martin, Keira, Arath, Raul, Hadar, Durzo, Dario, and to many others... There are plenty of free and paid activities (yoga, painting, games, kayak, Wednesday party) so it's impossible to get bored.
We came for lunch and enjoyed our fried calamari, potato wedges and shrimp tacos. The cocktails were good but the beer can be colder. It was a quiet afternoon.
I’m not sure where to start. This was some of the rudest service I’ve ever experienced. We asked for prices and were told one amount, but when it came time to pay, we were charged a completely different price. That alone was very frustrating. When we tried to rent a kayak and asked where to book it, one staff member told us to wait, even though they were not helping anyone else. The tone was dismissive and rude, and we were made to feel unwelcome. Sometimes you can just tell when a place doesn’t want you there. Because of this experience, we packed our bags and left. This may be a wake-up call for the owners to invest more in staff training and fair pay so guests are treated properly.
