Second Saturday Workshop: Historic Patterns & Printmaking with Museum Educators

Experience the creative world of 19th-century printmaking and decorative arts at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site. Participants will begin with a guided exploration of the historic Main House, observing original decorative paintings and botanical motifs by Thomas Cole. Museum educators will explain the historical context and techniques of printmaking, connecting the artistry of the past to hands-on practice. Following the tour, attendees will move to the Storehouse to create their own prints, using provided materials and guided instruction to design and craft a unique piece of art. This immersive workshop blends history, artistry, and tactile learning for all participants.
