Gain a deeper understanding of Kenyan life and culture with a visit to Kibera, one of Africa’s largest urban slums—a powerful and often overlooked experience for many visitors. Guided by a local expert, you’ll walk through the narrow corridors of the slum, engaging with the community in a respectful and meaningful way. This private tour offers valuable insights into the daily challenges faced by residents, while also showcasing the innovative and inspiring efforts they are making to improve their living conditions and build a better future.
During the tour, you’ll visit several key sites that reflect the spirit and resilience of Kibera. Explore a bustling open-air market, a local bead factory, and a unique bone recycling plant and shop. You’ll also see a kindergarten/orphanage providing care and education to local children, and have the opportunity to view the slum from two elevated vantage points for a broader perspective. Additionally, you’ll step inside two typical slum houses and see a public ground where community life unfolds. This immersive experience goes beyond sightseeing, offering a genuine connection with the people and stories of Kibera.

Effie guided us around and it was great! It's impressive and inspiring to a European like me. These guys have build a school to based on their client funding. Amazing, safe and cool! And a great team. Loved it.

Felt very safe as a solo female traveler. At times the tour felt a little fake, especially when the children at school started singing "Jambo Buana", a song only designed for tourists 🫠

Tour guides showed up over 1 hour late in a beat up car. They were both sick and now so am I. We got no bottled water. We missed half the elephant orphanage experience because they didn’t understand what tickets to buy.

Defentely recommendable. Go to the Slums. Get an insight in peoples life. Was super safe. Thanks Elijah and Lucas

With good people and nice environment. The visits are always welcomed with willing guides and happy kids.
