No photos inside the underground and only guided tour is allowed. Many ancient people buried here. For respect we only saw the empty graves. Be punctual or you will have to enter 1h later.
There's no remains left in the catacombs, they've all been moved to churches or archaeological preserves. It was interesting to tour the catacombs, but actually I found it more interesting to see the inside of the church of Saint Sebastian for his remains are held these days. The tour was okay, I gave it four stars because it met my basic expectations but didn't exceed any of my expectations.
Lovely to get out of the centre of Rome for a more relaxed visit. Really interesting guided tour. Great cafe to spend some time in before/after the tour. Easy to get to on the 218 bus from San Giovanni.
