Liuxihe National Forest Park is located in Liangkou Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou City. There are many attractions in the park. Here are some of the main attractions:
Natural landscape
- Sanyatang Valley: Located in Wuzhishan Scenic Area, it is a subtropical mountain rainforest with a forest coverage rate of 98%. The landscape in the valley includes more than 30 natural landscapes such as deep valley green bamboo, subtropical mountain rainforest, thousand-year-old vines, Feiliuxian Bridge, Tongtian Cave, and 5 cultural landscapes including ancient charcoal kiln and Sanyatang Dam.
- Liuxi Lake: Liuxi River Reservoir, located in the middle of the park, with an area of more than 20,000 acres and a storage capacity of 350 million cubic meters. The lake is clear and surrounded by mountains. There are 22 large and small islands scattered on the lake, such as white jade and jade. You can take a boat to enjoy the scenery of the lake and mountains.
- Wuzhi Mountain: The peak in the southeastern part of the park has a higher altitude. Among them, the main peak of Jizhen Mountain is 1146.7 meters above sea level, which is the second highest peak in Guangzhou. Climbing up to the Wuzhi Mountain Viewing Corridor, you can overlook the panoramic view of Liuxi River and have a panoramic view of the mountains, surging clouds and waves.
Human landscape category
- Liuxi Xiangxue: It has the largest plum grove in Southeast Asia and is a seasonal attraction in the park. When the plum blossoms bloom in winter, the white plum blossoms spread all over the mountains and plains, just like heavy snowfall. Therefore, it is known as "Fragrant Snow in the Flowing Stream", attracting many tourists to come to watch and take photos.
- Anti-Japanese Martyrs Monument: Built to commemorate the martyrs who died in the Anti-Japanese War, it has important historical significance and educational value, allowing people to remember that period of history and commemorate the martyrs.
- Liuxihe Dam: Built in 1958, it is majestic. Standing on the dam, you can overlook the magnificent scenery of Liuxi Lake. You can also learn about the construction process of the reservoir and relevant knowledge about water conservancy projects.
Entertainment and leisure
- Monkey Island: Opened to the public in May 1995, there are about 200 monkeys. It was jointly built by Zhongkai Agricultural College and the World Wildlife Conservation Organization. The monkeys have been trained to become more docile. Visitors can go to Monkey Island to feed, take photos, and watch monkey-related performances.
- Peacock Island: Located on an island in Liuxi Lake, the island is wide and has many trees, bamboos, flowers and birds. The peacock garden established on the island houses more than 300 peacocks of various sizes, including blue, green and white. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful gestures of peacocks such as opening their tails.
- Field Club: It is one of the first clubs to open in the country. It has professional instructors, special mountain field battlefields, new paintball guns, brand-new bulletproof helmets, etc. It has opened 3 battlefields with different combat methods in the mountain pine forest covering an area of more than 20,000 square meters for tourists to experience exciting paintball field battles.
