Nice place to stay and good breakfast . In the center of the plaza which is great. Only con is checking in was a head ache. Front desk ladies are not helpful and they demanded our son’s birth certificate to check in . No where in the check in details was this advised . Luckily we had it via email. This needs to be more transparent. I would switch out front desk ladies for better people especially if people are investing good money to stay here .
Well preserved historical site. The main square is large and magnificent against the mountain backdrop but do be careful with the broke glass mixed in between the large cobblestone floor. Read up on Simón Bolívar and Gran Colombia 🇨🇴 The streets are lined with carefully curated Spanish colonial style structures with quite a few important official buildings. Absolutely a dream walk for foodies since restaurants are jammed packed in between every turn. We paid for parking in a walled area where the bathrooms are located. Evidently most shops will direct guests there for el baño.
As I understand, the largest Central plaza in South America. It is wide open and surrounded by some really great restaurants and bars and vendors. While rather unassuming from the outside, the cathedral is worth entering for some beautiful design.
