Comuna 13 was honestly one of the highlights of my time in Medellín. I had such an amazing day there, just walking around, taking everything in, and enjoying the atmosphere. The views over the city are absolutely unreal and give you a whole new perspective of Medellín. The street art is next level — every wall tells a story, and the colours, detail, and creativity are incredible. What really stood out though was the vibe. The music, the energy, the locals, and the sense of pride in the community make the place feel so alive and welcoming. It’s one of those spots where you can just feel the history, resilience, and creativity all at once. Comuna 13 is a must-see when you’re in Medellín and an experience I’ll remember for a long time.
An unforgettable experience and one of the most powerful places to visit in Medellín. The art, history, and transformation of Comuna 13 are incredible and deeply moving. Along the route there are plenty of small shops, food stands, and places to grab a drink, which adds to the energy of the area. The walk starts with a fairly steep incline, but the outdoor escalators make the rest of the route accessible and enjoyable. I highly recommend going early. I started around 9:30 a.m. and it was comfortable and easy to explore; by 11:30 a.m., it became extremely crowded. I enjoyed it so much that I plan to return again during the same trip. Absolutely worth the time.
Fantastic area! It's colorful, it's artsy, very hilly, and definitely enjoyable. I recommend exploring it either a guide as it's easy to get lost and just keep walking. So many amazing street performers, massive sculptures, murals, things to buy, foods to try and much much more.
