Step into the world of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on this immersive tour of Guernsey, inspired by the best-selling novel by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Departing from Stand A, the tour begins with a scenic drive to Jerbourg, located on the island’s southeast cliff-top, where many memorable scenes from the book are brought to life. As you explore this beautiful area, see the spots where key characters like Dawsey, Amelia, and Isola are imagined to have “lived,” alongside the narrow lanes, meadows, and charming farmhouses that echo the atmosphere of the novel. A short walk brings you to a stunning viewpoint that offers sweeping views of the other Channel Islands and even the coast of France on clear days. It’s here that Elizabeth is said to have met her German lover, Christian, and watched the German warplanes fly overhead on their way to bomb London.
Throughout the tour, your knowledgeable driver-guide shares not only insights about the fictional lives of the book’s characters but also compelling real-life stories from Guernsey’s history. Hear moving accounts of courage, resistance, and resilience shown by islanders during the harsh years of German occupation in World War II. This tour offers a perfect blend of literary discovery and historical depth, connecting the emotional journey of the novel with the real-life events that shaped Guernsey’s unique wartime experience.

This trip is well worth doing. We had an amazing view of inner Guernsey, seeing sights and hearing stories behind them from a locals view. Cannot thank our driver/guide James for an enjoyable time. Really appreciated the warm lap blankets 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time to Guernsey and Ant did a great job of introducing the island to us. His passion for the place was infectious.

What a great way to see some of the island and it's very different landscapes. Michael is very knowledgeable and it was very interesting learning about the history of Guernsey. Would recommend to anyone who has a morning to spare on Guernsey.

We recently visited Guernsey and very much enjoyed the tour. As well as being able to see around the (very) narrow lanes and picturesque rural locations, we appreciated Michael's interesting and funny commentary. It felt like a real insight into Guernsey life. Another plus points were the stopovers at the beach cafe, WW2 bunkers and the Little Chapel. Thanks, Michael, for a very interesting, informative and enjoyable three and a half hours.

Ant was so helpful and informative. Fantastic tour if you want to see and hear a lot about the island in 3 hours. Very good value for money. Would recommend if you've got the time. Thanks Ant for helping your crippled passengers today. Avril and Teresa.
