Visited the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall during our trip to Beijing, and it was one of the highlights of the journey. This section is well preserved, scenic, and much more comfortable to explore compared to the more crowded areas. The views of the wall stretching across the mountains were stunning and well worth the trip. The facilities are well organised, with clear signage and options like the cable car and toboggan, which made the visit enjoyable and less physically demanding. Walking along the wall was quite tiring though but there is plenty of space to stop for photos and take in the scenery. Highly recommended for couples looking for a memorable and scenic Great Wall experience near Beijing.

The area is historic and significant. Peaceful view , International spot. Best time to visit in the day is Morning and Afternoon. Not so much souvenir shop, and other things is price is not fixed, they ask so much high price than the actual price. I did not like that things in china.

We got a didi from Beijing to this section of the wall. Took about 90 minutes to get there and 60 minutes to return. I would recommend going as early as you can. We arrived at around 8am and it was not busy at all. By the time we were leaving however it was very, very busy!! The wall itself is well restored. Great panoramic views to be had. We got the cable car up and down as this is what our ticket included but you can get the toboggan down.

An unforgettable experience! The Mutianyu section is beautifully restored, surrounded by green hills and incredible panoramic views. It’s less crowded than Badaling, which makes it perfect for photos and quiet walks along the wall. The cable car ride up and the toboggan ride down are both fun and offer great views. Walking on the ancient stones and imagining the history behind them is something truly special. Definitely one of the highlights of visiting China!

The ticket process at the Great Wall was very efficient. Make sure to bring your passport as they will scan it at the entrance for the shuttle bus and cable car. When I visited, it was raining and foggy, so climbing required extra care as the steps were slippery. Despite the weather, the views were breathtaking. Seeing the Wall stretch endlessly across the mountains is truly amazing. There are plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and grab food, which is convenient. Walking along the Wall and taking in the history and scenery was an unforgettable experience for me.
