Overall the insides are a lot better than the outsides. It is worth the trip down from Cairo. I completed the whole site in 2 hours, and I walked it all. Some tombs are your standard empty room, but most had at least some decent murals and things to look at. My main issue was the tickets. Just set a good price for all rather then confuse matters. If you been to GEM you could easily skip the museum. The step pyramid is the oldest/first pyramid, that's all you really need to know. Is been pre warns to negotiate with your Uber driver to wait for you and do the return trip. This was food advice. I think I'd have struggled to get an Uber back to Cairo otherwise. No taxis waiting outside.

A. Opening Hours : 8 am to 4.30 pm B. Ticket: EGP 150 for foreigners C. Location : Badrshein, Giza Governorate 3352001, Egypt D. Travel mode: Cruise arranges the teavel F. PHOTOGRAPHY : Allowed This step pyramid was designed for Djoser, first king of the 3rd dynasty, by the world’s first named architect, Imhotep, who is also a key figure in the history of medicine. Imhotep designed the pyramid around the 2650 BCE. It is believed to be the first pyramid and the earliest large-scale cut stone building and funerary architecture. The structure with its six layered diminishing step layer is about 200 feet in height. The pyramid is inside a complex of different sized dummies and galleries. We saw this historical structure during our recent visit to Egypt. Aa we entered, we could see the different structures like the temple of Mortuary, Temple T, the houses at the North and at the South, the Serdeb and the Heb Sed Court. The serdeb is the square limestone box. We could see the life-sized statue of Djoser. The outside building has a row of beautiful Djed pillars. The pyramid looks massive and we loved the impressive appearance. This magnificent unique structure is a must visit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a great, informative and fun day with our guide Menna and driver Mohammed. Menna was very knowledgeable, energetic and helpful throughout the day, while Mohammed was very pleasant and attentive. Our day was smooth and easy because of them which is quite a rarity in our Egypt trip so far. They have been the best guide and driver we’ve had in our 1 week stay across Cairo, Luxor and Abu Simbel. Thank you!

Sumayyah was the guide of all guides. She was so caring and nurturing to me on my private tour. She even held my hand in busy areas and traffic - how kind! She bought me a drink too! Her knowledge of all the historic facts blew me away too! She didn't rush me and said she will do what I feel I want. She took great photos too. She asked me beforehand if I was claustrophobic as inside the pyramid is a close space. This was kind of her to prepare me. We went to this cute lunch spot where the food was DELICIOUS! Only had to pay for drinks. However, this tour included a camel ride which I had paid for at checkout. Once on the camel, the person pulling him asked for a top. I gave him 100EGP. He saw my money and said he wanted 5 200's aka 1000EGP. I caved and did but he kept asking are you happy and I said no. I saidI had paid for the ride already. He asked how much back and I said 400EGP. I still felt pressured but I felt bad, which I shouldn't have. Apart from this, great tour!

It is interesting that most tourists only go to Giza to see the Pyramid of Cheops (or, more precisely, the three pyramids, among which is the Pyramid of Cheops). Yes, it is the largest pyramid. Yes, the pyramids do look spectacular against the desert backdrop. However, not far away lies Saqqara, home to Egypt's oldest pyramid - the Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser. There are fewer tourists here, so you won't be disturbed. And there is plenty to see in the necropolis. I would recommend hiring a guide: they will not only tell you about the site but also escort you into the tomb (otherwise, security might not let you in). And, of course, it is best to book a private tour so nothing distracts you from what you’re seeing. Be sure to bring water and cover your head - you will be out in the desert under the blazing sun. Of course, you should also see the Pyramid of Cheops, but if you visit Saqqara as well, you will gain a more complete picture of what happened on this land many millennia before us.

A breathtaking walk through history – standing where it all began! Standing in the vast courtyard in front of the Step Pyramid, you immediately feel small. The "wings of history" blow strongly here – it is truly an awe-inspiring experience to be in the presence of the world's oldest major stone structure. It is hard to grasp how they managed to build this massive wonder over 4,700 years ago without modern technology. Even today, it would be a monumental task. The Complex: We walked the path of the Heb-Sed court, the very route the Pharaoh had to run to prove his strength and fitness after decades of rule. Imagining how this place must have looked in its full glory back then is simply overwhelming. It is heartbreakingly beautiful. Inside: We also went inside the burial chamber. The scale and the lighting down there create a mystical atmosphere that leaves you speechless. Restoration: The restoration work is fantastic. The pyramid looks incredible today, yet you are left with a sense of wonder, knowing that what we see now is still only a shadow of its original magnificence. Verdict: A must-visit. If you don't feel the history here, you won't feel it anywhere!

It’s breathtaking when I saw the first pyramid in my life. A truly monumental and awe-inspiring site! The Pyramid of Djoser is far more than just a structure; it is the earliest known colossal stone building in Egypt and the original template for all later pyramids. The Step Pyramid design is architecturally fascinating, marking the crucial transition from flat mastabas to the iconic smooth-sided pyramids we know today. Stand in the massive courtyard and feel the weight of history. A must-visit for anyone interested in the roots of Egyptian civilization."
