We had a good experience renting a car for self driving here. We rented a MG ZS for 10 days. The car was practically new with around 32000km. It had a phone holder (which unfortunately was broken) but not needed as you could connect carplay/android auto via cable. The owner of the rental was really fast with his replies and everything went smoothly. If you plan on driving the roads in the north you need a car with high clearance as sometimes the roads can be a bit tricky as they are still in the process of being built. For driving in Vietnam you need a 1968 IDP together with your national driving license. Beware that the traffic behaves differently here and that you should always drive defensively. Driving in Hanoi itself can be stressful, but it gets a lot better once you're out of the city. Communication was handeld via WhatsApp. You will need to send your passport and driving license beforehand so that the documents can be prepared. Also I paid a 100$ reservation fee, which was later deducted from the required deposit. Payment can be done online, which has 4% processing fee due to the payment providers. I paid on the spot after signing the rental documents etc.. Tolls are paid automatically via cameras which scan your license plate. The fees will be deducted from your deposit and you get back the rest. There is a deposit of around 1000$. Half of it gets refunded once you return the car. The other half once it's clear that there haven't been any traffic violations (around 20 days later). Initially we rented the car for 11 days, the owner allowed us to return the car earlier and we were refunded for one day. Before giving back the car we had to clean it which we did in a place nearby, recommended by the owner. The car was shiny afterwards for only 120k VND. When returning the car there was a quick check for any new damages but as there were none everything was fine. (As with any rental I recommend to take a video of the car before renting and share it as to have a common reference in case there is any dispute later) All in all a very good experience and I would rent again!
We took a car (Toyota Fortuna) to escape to the north. Very clean and nice car. The owner is pleasant and very professional. The booking was easy, quick regarding the process of getting the car and returning it back. There were no hidden costs or any expenses you don’t except. Highly recommended. I would definitely book here again when come to Vietnam again.
We were a group of 8 people and rented a self-drive car. For an additional fee of $20, they picked us up directly at the airport, which was very convenient and saved us a lot of time. Overall, we had a great experience with this car rental company. Everything went smoothly and without any issues. Communication with the owner via WhatsApp was fast, clear, and very helpful. The approach was friendly and professional. During the rental, we had a technical problem with the car, but it was handled immediately. There was a genuine effort to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and provide us with a replacement car. Overall, I rate this experience 10/10 and highly recommend this car rental to anyone traveling to Hanoi, Vietnam.
