This place is amazing for any traveler looking for things out of the ordinary. The exhibit is really well done and the outside of the castle is free. Beautiful scenery and a rich history. You can also dress up as a samurai and take a photo. I would recommend.

Incredible site to see, especially for a non Japanese tourist, just a wonderous place to visit, full of history, we also took the Aqualiner cruise ride that takes you around the castle. One of Japan's most famous landmarks and a significant symbol of the unification of Japan during the sixteenth century. Today, the castle's main tower serves as a modern museum set within a vast municipal park. Museum & Observation: The interior of the main tower houses a museum dedicated to the history of the castle and the life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, while the top floor offers panoramic views of the city. Imposing Architecture: The site is renowned for its massive stone walls, impressive moats, and the iconic white, green, and gold aesthetic of the central keep. Castle Park: The surrounding park covers about two square kilometers and features the Nishinomaru Garden, which contains approximately 600 cherry trees, making it a premier spot for cherry blossom viewing. Toyotomi Era (1583): Construction began under the orders of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who intended it to be the center of a newly unified Japan. It was the largest and most formidable castle of its time. Destruction and Rebirth: After Hideyoshi's death, the castle was destroyed by Tokugawa forces during the Siege of Osaka in 1615. The Tokugawa shogunate rebuilt it in the 1620s, only for the main tower to be struck by lightning and burn down in 1665. Modern Reconstruction: For centuries, the castle remained without a main keep until the current concrete structure was built in 1931. Miraculously, it survived the air raids of World War II, though many other parts of the grounds were damaged. Major Renovation (1997): A comprehensive restoration project was completed in 1997, which modernized the interior and restored the exterior to its former Edo-period glory.

Beautiful castle, enjoyed viewing it from the outside and getting nice shots of it, the park and river surrounding the park - I didn't go inside of the building; the line did look long to enter the facility. I did see if you buy the "Osaka amazing pass", it's one of the 30 attractions that you gain access to (between a certain time frame - refer to times) Open space to view it - plenty of seats located around the park where it's located. Local shops, restaurants and museum inside of the park. There are tour buses, that drive around the park stopping at various points for pictures and tour guide information about the castle and park surroundings. Toilets/bathrooms located inside of the shopping plaza. Easy to get to via public transport.

My second time at the castles but first time with my mum. There is a bit of walking from the station around 20 minutes (some uphill as well). Definitely would recommend getting tickets beforehand as there was a line when I came this time; I used my Amazing Osaka Pass to get in. The museum is around 4-5 floors with beautiful historical pieces exhibited. The top floor was really windy at this time of year. There is a lot of stair-walking so be prepared for that. It’s something that you should definitely visit but it’s not really worth a second visit.

Osaka Castle is a very big and impressive place that many visitors enjoy. The castle itself is large, beautiful, and looks very grand. With its white walls, green roof, and golden decorations, the castle stands out clearly and feels strong and powerful. It is one of the most famous landmarks in Osaka. The area around Osaka Castle is also very wide. There are large parks, open spaces, trees, and walking paths, so visitors can walk for a long time and still feel comfortable. In spring, many people come to see cherry blossoms, and in other seasons, the view is still calm and pleasant. The size of the area makes the castle feel even more special and important. Inside the castle, there is a museum where visitors can learn about the history of Osaka and the castle itself. From the top floor, you can enjoy a nice view of the city, which shows how big Osaka is. Overall, Osaka Castle is a beautiful and powerful place. It is big, well-known, and very impressive. Visiting Osaka Castle gives you a strong feeling of history, beauty, and greatness all in one place.

Our tour guide and driver Ms Xiao was awesome! Wonderful luxurious Toyota Vellfire, like riding in limo touring Osaka and Kobe. She made sure our family was well taken care of, showed us all areas of great views, photo ops, and nice places to eat. Thank you Xiao for such a great memorable time in Osaka and Kobe, Arigato!

This tour was a little different than we expected. I would describe this as a nice private vehicle with a driver who takes you from place to place. Our driver had limited command of English. So, the tour company texted us short descriptions of each site we visited. That said, this is still a very efficient way to see many sites in Osaka in a short timeframe. The driver was responsive and prompt, the vehicle was very comfortable, and we didn’t have to figure out transportation between sites. Osaka has less English signage than other Asian cities like Tokyo or Seoul. So, having an easy way to get around was key to having a smooth experience on the day we toured.

Thank you so very much to Pony for helping us make some amazing memories. Nikki got to feed the bowing deer which was a dream come true. We managed to fit in everything on the itinerary and Nikki managed it. I’m sure this is because Pony always drove us as close as he could get and he was happy to stop when we needed a coffee or lunch break. I will make sure to leave a good review on get my guide. I am very, very grateful to Pony for making this day so enjoyable and special. Thank you!
