As bus terminals go, this one is quite nice and is the stopping point for most routes into and out of Porto. Toilets are on floor above and are clean. You are about 4kms from the city centre which is walkable.
The ticket clerks, Vasco and Daniel Lobo, only looked for the most expensive fare and didn’t provide any information about cheaper options. For example, they charged me and my wife €36 in total, when there were tickets available for around €5.75 per person — nearly a quarter of the price. There seems to be no real customer service when buying directly from the counter. You would expect that buying from a person means receiving guidance or information, but instead, they just sell you the most expensive ticket without explaining alternatives. When I realized this, I asked them to cancel the tickets so I could buy from the self-service machine, and they said they couldn’t do it. So, what’s the point of having a person there if a machine can do the same — and for a much lower price? I strongly recommend using the self-service machines; they are far cheaper and more transparent.
🚌 Efficient, Clear, and On Time — But a Bit Claustrophobic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) We used Campanhã Bus Terminal for our departure from Porto, and overall, it’s a well-organized and efficient transportation hub — especially if you’re traveling with FlixBus. The screens throughout the terminal clearly show which bus is leaving from which platform, including destinations and departure times. Everything is easy to follow, with enough signage to guide you through the building without any confusion. For FlixBus users in particular, this terminal is very user-friendly — digital displays are everywhere, and you can easily find your bus without needing to ask around. The buses depart exactly on time, which was great. Everything felt punctual and structured — a big plus if you’re catching a connection or on a tight schedule. The only downside? The terminal itself is quite low-ceilinged and enclosed. Since much of it is located underground, it can feel a bit stuffy or dim, especially if you’re waiting for a while. It’s not the most uplifting environment — but to be fair, it does its job well. This is a function-first kind of space: get in, find your bus, and go.
