The adventure begins with a visit to the stunning Osum Canyon, a 26-kilometer stretch carved by the Osum River through southern Albania’s dramatic landscape. This natural wonder offers short walking trails and numerous scenic viewpoints perfect for photography and quiet admiration of its breathtaking formations. The river’s rapids are classified as class II, indicating a calm and relatively safe environment, even for those with limited rafting or water experience. With your belongings securely packed, the journey continues into the heart of the canyon, where you'll have the chance to swim or bathe in serene natural pools and clear streams nestled between the towering canyon walls.
As you make your way through the canyon, you'll witness a unique and vibrant ecosystem. The steep sides of the gorge are adorned with lush Mediterranean vegetation that flourishes throughout the year, creating a beautiful contrast against the rugged rock formations. These geological features, shaped by centuries of water and wind erosion, tell a story millions of years in the making. The experience offers not only a refreshing encounter with nature but also an opportunity to appreciate the harmony between land, water, and life. Please note that this activity requires a good physical condition, and participants should have undergone a health check within the year for their own safety.

Osumi Canyon in Albania is an adventure lover’s paradise—towering cliffs, winding rivers, and breathtaking waterfalls create a natural playground. Whether hiking, rafting, or just soaking in the views, every moment here is pure adrenaline and awe, making it one of Albania’s most unforgettable landscapes.

Fantastic view, several places you can also stop on the roads above. Well worth the stop.

This canyon has 3 different parts to visit and make sure you visit all of them as each of them will offer a different photo background. The first part is where you can see both sides of the canyon and where the river is making the snake shape. The second part is where you'll find Bride's Hole. Then come the last part with the lowest cliff where you can swim in the river. No hiking needed, just a short walk as all 3 places are accessible by car.

There are 3 viewing points to the canyon and this one provides the best view. A free parking is available at the camping site. To reach the metal platform you need to pass through the camping but the owner is nice and does not stop the tourists. No fee for the viewpoint. The view is more impressive in live than on photos. VERY IMPORTANT: if you are driving from Berati and want to continue to Gjirokastër, better skip this canyon because after visiting it, you need to go back to Berati and only after that you can continue to Gjirokastër. The latter adds several hours more driving. There is a path that Google Maps shows but avoid it at all costs!!! The locals know this road is not accessible by car but still the navigation shows it. The road is in a VERY BAD condition. It is around 14-15 km. You will pass by almost inhabited places and if you stick with your car somewhere on the way, it will be very difficult to find people to help you. Even if driving a 4x4 vehicle I recommend you skip this road. You will thank me later...

So amazing point. There are place for camping and there are parking where you can leave car and go to organized view point(i add pictures). Everything civil. We was in Saturday in mid April and was no people. In others reviews I read about not good road, but with our experience wasn't same. We move from Berat and road was very good, was some parts thine but asphalt everywhere good and existe. Definitely recommend to everyone for visit. Who like rafting its good place for it and from Berat there are many options.
