Experience an unforgettable journey into Iceland’s dynamic geology along the Reykjanes Peninsula, where volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and powerful seismic forces have shaped the land along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Guided by an experienced local expert, you will explore dramatic landscapes and recent eruption sites near Fagradalsfjall, Litli Hrutur, and Sundhnúkagígar, gaining a deeper understanding of the raw natural forces that continue to reshape Iceland today.

Discover a wide range of geothermal and natural wonders beyond the volcanoes, including bubbling mud pools and steaming vents at Seltún and Gunnuhver. As you walk between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates at the Bridge Between Continents and explore black sand beaches near Kleifarvatn Lake, this experience offers a complete and immersive look into Iceland’s ever-changing landscapes, with optional airport pickup or drop-off available.

Toby is a great driver and a nice guy. He told us great stories while climbing to volcano places. Worth the price

Just an absolutely unreal experience. Once in a lifetime. Something I’d never thought I’d get a chance to see. Our guide Hoffi was fantastic! He is super passionate about what he does it’s obvious. We met at a local spot and then followed him to our parking lot. We got our bearings and then began our hike. It’s a very long hike (about 7-8 miles total) and through very muddy, rocky, mossy terrain. Some parts were easier than others. Either way it was so worth it to see the volcano erupting! Haffi brought his own camera so we could zoom in and see the lava even better. He took moments to show up local current news articles and made sure everyone felt like they had good pictures and enough time to see everything and take it in. He was a fantastic guide and made our experience even better! We loved this and it was a highlight of our trip!

Was luck to see the latest eruption and live volcanic activity. I was able to see lava streams (22jul2025). I went again on 24July and the lava streams were gone due to the rain. It is a beautiful place to hike for volcano fields from previous eruptions.

We didn't do the tours. There is a large parking lot and you can park there for 1000 ISK. The walk to the lava is a bit more than 1 hour and you get a great view to the volcano. The lava was close enough and red hot and you can walk up to it. Walk to the very end and you have the best view. Walk is not hard, just long and a bit more then 5km. You can also pay 10000 ISK per person to get a ride.

A talented, knowledgeable guide made the tour engaging for all the guests. History, folklore, geology, botany. Everything covered, with concern about our health and respect for every person in the group. The foundation for the very special tour! Lava and Magma, hot wells and inland lakes, Trolls and Elves. Wear shoes with a good tread on them.
