My husband and I visited Chankanaab primarily for the dolphin experience, and overall this was an incredibly special day and a memory we will truly cherish forever. We purchased the dolphin experience package for $129 per person, which included the dolphin encounter, the manatee experience, and the sea lion show. Every part of this was very well organized, clearly explained, and ran smoothly from start to finish. We also opted for the photo package at $75 per person, which we pre-purchased at the park before our experience. This package included a family photo and an individual photo with the manatee absolutely worth it to have professional keepsakes from such a meaningful day. The dolphin handler was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, which made the experience feel safe, respectful, and fun. The dolphin interaction itself was a solid 10/10 emotional, exciting, and beautifully guided. The manatee experience was just as touching, and the sea lion show was entertaining without feeling excessive or exploitative. Each sea lion came out briefly, performed, and rotated nothing felt overdone or drawn out. I also want to comment on animal care, because this was important to us. All of the animals appeared very healthy, alert, and well cared for. The dolphins were active and responsive, and their dorsal fins appeared upright and strong. While dorsal fin appearance alone isn’t a sole indicator of animal welfare, combined with their behavior, energy, and the way the handlers interacted with them, it gave us a lot of reassurance. The sea lions and manatees also looked well maintained, calm, and comfortable in their environment. The experience also included access to the buffet (which costs $24.99 if you don’t have the all-inclusive). I’ll be honest here the food is not the highlight. It’s decent and filling, but the presentation and overall quality could definitely be improved. It gets the job done, but don’t come expecting anything memorable food wise. That said, I did order a Jarrito with tequila for $11, and it was delicious and refreshing definitely a win. Overall, Chankanaab Adventure Beach Park delivers an emotional, well organized, and family friendly experience. Between the dolphin, manatee, and sea lion encounters, the friendly staff, and the beautiful setting, this was a day filled with core memories we’ll never forget. It’s especially great for families, couples, and anyone wanting a meaningful wildlife experience while visiting Cozumel. Highly recommended for the experiences and memories just manage expectations when it comes to the food. 🐬✨
My daughter had her hair braided on the beach by a woman who was so patient. The snorkeling was enjoyable, the water was clear although there weren't a large amount of fish. It was enough for the kids to learn and the water was calm.
Neat place. We did the swim with the manatees. That was awesome. It's a very busy place...especially with all the cruise ships. Scheduling times for the manatees was difficult and then they were running behind schedule. Watch taking a later time if you're close to having to be back on board ship. The beach is very rocky...highly recommend water shoes. While there, go see the vendor Monkey, 2nd shop from the end before yoy enter the turnstile.
