I visited Ulun Danu Beratan Temple on a weekday, and the experience was peaceful from start to finish. The temple’s lakeside setting is stunning — early morning mist gives it a dreamlike quality, and the reflections on the water make every photo feel surreal. There was no wait to enter, and the flow of visitors felt calm and respectful. It’s easy to move around without feeling rushed, and the layout encourages you to pause and take in the scenery. The temple grounds are well maintained, and there’s a quiet reverence in how people interact with the space. I didn’t buy tickets in advance and had no issues at the entrance, so unless you’re visiting on a holiday, it’s probably not necessary. Staff were present but unobtrusive, and there’s enough signage to guide you even if you don’t speak the local language. The surrounding gardens and lake views add to the meditative atmosphere. This is a place that invites reflection, not just sightseeing. Whether you’re traveling solo or with others, it’s easy to find a quiet corner to sit and breathe. I’d recommend spending at least an hour here, maybe more if you want to explore the nearby areas. For me, it was a 5 out of 5 — not just for the beauty, but for the sense of calm it offered.

Wow. Just wow. On the island of a thousand gods, this may be my favorite temple. Not only is it gorgeous, but there's a lot to do. And it's very scenic and picturesque places all around. They will also do a photo shoot for you which was surprisingly very fun. The pictures speak for itself, but is well worth driving an hour or 2 out of the way for this.

Ulun Danu is one of the best attractions we visited during our Bali trip. The place is very well maintained, and the cool weather really adds to the overall charm. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Bali. There are freelance photographers around who can take your photos and print them for you at a reasonable price. You can easily spend around 2 hours here, as there are multiple photo spots and enough space to relax. There are also restaurants nearby where you can enjoy a quick coffee break. Ample parking is available for a small fee. Entry tickets cost IDR 75,000 for adults and IDR 50,000 for kids.
