Visiting Warangal Fort is like stepping back in time to the 12th century Kakatiya dynasty. The fort, once the capital and a center of administration and culture, is famous for its massive stone gateways (Kakatiya Kala Thoranam), thick walls, and intricately carved temple remnants. Though it was destroyed by Muhammad bin Tughlaq in the 14th century and later attacked by the Bahmani Sultanate, many structures still stand, showcasing the dynasty’s architectural brilliance. Walking through the ruins, exploring the gateways, and enjoying the lush surroundings with panoramic city views gives a peaceful yet thrilling experience. It’s perfect for history lovers, photography enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a glimpse of India’s rich heritage. 🌿📸

Quick stop at Warangal Fort on our way back from Laknavaram Lake to Hyderabad. Impressive ruins of the Kakatiya-era fortress with massive arches and historical vibe—perfect short break during the drive. Well-maintained, easy access, great photo spot even in limited time. Recommended if passing through

We visited this as part of our annual trip, We drove from Hyderabad to Warangal, This was one of the places on our list We reached around 12 pm in the afternoon, tickets are online, you can take it prior or you can it there but online. This is a fort remnants but worth watch, It’s still mysterious about the four gopuras which is very different from the regular architectural style prevailing in the region Beautiful carved stones are laying through out the fort,

The Heart & soul of Warangal. Always a pleasure to visit this heritage site. Gives a strange energy just imagining and reminiscing the stories of great kakatiya empire & the fearless Rani Rudramadevi (1262-89). Goosebumps Guaranteed when historians hail her glory through the storytelling. Visited many a times but this one is truly special. visited with my spa delhi friends(who appreciates art & architecture).
