we had the most amazing day trip to udawalawe elephant safari. We were picked up on time by our driver very early in the morning and transferred to our safari driver who's name was gimhana. Gimhana was the most lovely, kind and considerate person you can meet. The early morning pick up was so worth the beautiful sunrise drive into the park. Gimhana drove us to some beautiful and amazing stops to take photos, he was so knowledgeable telling us lots of wonderful facts and answering all our questions. Gimhana was an exceptional driver and took us to wonderful locations to get the most amazing elephant photos. Gimhana was so happy and you could tell he really enjoyed what he did. It was an absolute pleasure taking this safari and a big thank you to Gimhana for making this day such a wonderful one, I only hope when we return to sri lankan again and definitely do this trip again we will be lucky enough for Gimhana to be our guide again. thanks to everyone such a brilliant trip Lisa and tony
Excellent safari trip with Gimhana. We saw elephants, crocodiles, mongoose, deer and a big range of birds thanks to his keen eyes and attention to detail. We particularly enjoyed the fact that he did not follow the convoys of jeeps through the park as a lot of tours did but rather went off on his own route which made us feel more like we were having a private tour, and which must be better for the animals than having 15 vehicles surrounding them. Well done Gimhana. Only slight gripe was that our transfer to the park from could have been better. Our driver drove aggressively and the back seat belts were not in full working order. I'm not going to deduct a star for this because almost all drivers I used in Sri Lanka drive like absolute maniacs too...
Really nice trip! We arrived from Weligama on nice car with conditioner. Guide is a really nice person: he helped us find many animals, the guide offered a very tasty breakfast for a small extra fee. we are absolutely delighted, thank you Gimhana
