We booked a full-day safari, and the jeep picked us up from our accommodation exactly on time. Our guide, Damith, was very enthusiastic and did everything possible to make sure we had the best experience and could see as many animals as possible. We saw elephants, buffaloes, peacocks, deer, mongooses, birds, toucans, a crocodile, and even a leopard at the end. Damith always tried to position the jeep so we had the best possible view of the animals, and he was happy to share interesting information about them. Breakfast was provided, and between 12:00 and 14:00 we had lunch by the ocean, as jeeps are not allowed to drive inside the park during this time.

Our guide and driver went out his way to make sure we were seeing as many animals as we could. It was clear the guides and drivers work together to communicate when they see specific animals. Seen a bear and a leopard amongst other things. Brilliant day and a bucket list activity

We had such an amazing time in the safari! The stunning views of nature and all the animals at their natural environment make a humbling and heartwarming experience ❤️ Our guide Darshana was an excellent host, very knowledgeable and really seemed to care about what he was doing! The food provided was delicious too! Totally recommend the experience 🙂

Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful with finding animals. It felt safe and comfortable and our breakfast spread was yummy. He provided enough water too. His knowledge of animals and birds from the area was impressive and his photo skills were amazing! He didn’t get too close to the animals unlike some other drivers which felt ethical and good for the wildlife.

We had an incredible safari experience with Yasanaka. He was truly amazing and made sure we saw everything — especially the leopards. One leopard actually passed right by us, which was absolutely unforgettable. He also stopped so we could fully enjoy seeing the elephants and carefully pointed out every animal along the way. He has great energy, is fun, chill, and clearly loves what he does. At the end of the day, he even helped me catch my bus from Tissa and made sure I got on safely, which was very kind and thoughtful. The safari was fantastic, and Yasanaka made the experience even better. Highly recommend it!!

A bumpy ride, but we managed to see leaopards, elephants and many others. We did not see the bears. Overall a very nice experience for begginers safari, don’t expect Africa’s experience.

Yala National Park is an incredible wildlife experience. Beautiful landscapes, plenty of elephants, and the excitement of being in one of the world’s best places to spot 🐆 leopards . The safari feels adventurous and raw, especially during early morning or evening drives. Can get busy, but with a good guide it’s absolutely worth visiting. Highly recommended!

We came visit the Yala National Park tbh it was one of the highlights of our holiday in Sri Lanka. We stayed in Galle and took about a 3.5hr drive to reach Yala. Luckily we hired a private safari thru our resort so they arranged everything for us, we had a whole Jeep just for ourselves and our hotel driver. The experience was exceptional! We enjoyed it very much. We drove around and found so many exotic animals, unfortunately the leopards didn’t show themselves during our visit but that was okay. We highly recommend this day trip if you’re in Sri Lanka.

I recently visited Yala National Park and it was truly one of the best wildlife experiences in Sri Lanka. The park is rich in biodiversity and offers a real chance to see animals in their natural environment. We saw elephants, deer, peacocks, birds, and even crocodiles. Leopard sightings depend on timing and luck, but the excitement of the safari makes it worth it. The scenery, especially early morning, is stunning with beautiful light and peaceful surroundings. Before you enter the place you should have a tickets and also verified document of you like NIC or passport. If you go your private vehicle you should have a guide, if not you can book a safari tour to visit inside the park. Overall, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone interested in wildlife and nature.

Yala National Park is an outstanding wildlife destination and a must-visit for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The park is rich in fauna, with frequent sightings of elephants, deer, wild boar, crocodiles, peacocks, and a wide variety of birds. Yala is also famous for having one of the highest densities of leopards in the world, and although sightings depend on luck, the thrill of tracking wildlife is unforgettable. The flora of the park is equally impressive, with dry-zone forests, scrublands, grasslands, and water bodies that support diverse ecosystems. These landscapes make the safari visually beautiful and ecologically fascinating. There are designated resting areas inside the national park, which are helpful during long safaris, allowing visitors to take short breaks while still enjoying the natural surroundings. The ticket price is on the higher side, especially for foreign tourists, but considering the scale of the park and wildlife experience, it feels reasonably justified. Strict rules are enforced inside the park, such as maintaining silence, not feeding animals, staying inside vehicles, and following designated routes. These rules are important for wildlife conservation and visitor safety and should be strictly followed. Overall, Yala National Park offers a memorable and well-managed safari experience. With responsible tourism and patience, it provides a deep connection to Sri Lanka’s rich natural heritage.
